Excellent Prospect for Goodman

2 June 2009

Global integrated property company, Goodman, has let 4,300 sq ft at its Colton Square business park in Leicester to the company responsible for creating jobs and driving regeneration and economic growth across the region.

Prospect Leicestershire will be moving into the ground floor of Two Colton Square, in the City’s New Business Quarter, one of the key areas in the central Leicester regeneration masterplan.

Situated in the heart of Leicester, the redevelopment of the former Charles Street Police Station is a major milestone in the City’s regeneration, blending the former police station with high profile, contemporary Grade A office space.

The move creates a single support location for investors, developers and businesses looking to locate or expand in Leicester and Leicestershire. It brings together all of the staff who previously made up Leicester Regeneration Company and Invest Leicestershire.

James Raven, Development Director at developers Goodman, said: "For the city and county’s own investment and regeneration agency to relocate to Colton Square is a resounding endorsement for the development.  The organisation has a critical role to play in attracting new businesses and generating economic growth across Leicester and Leicestershire, and we are delighted to welcome them to Colton Square."

Nick Carter, chairman of the LLEDC, said: “The Colton Square development is high quality accommodation and we felt it important that the new company should be able to present the best possible image to prospective investors and developers, as well as showcasing the offices for potential future tenants. One of our key areas of focus is to attract companies and public sector organisations to relocate to this area, and we would like nothing better than to have to move out of Colton Square at some time in the future because of demand.”

Goodman has a track record of creating mixed-use environments such as Hatfield Business Park, Gloucester Business Park and Oxford Business Park. It has delivered superior business space solutions for blue-chip customers including Cadbury Schweppes, GMAC, T-Mobile, Oxfam and NATS. In October 2008, Goodman scooped two awards at Property Week’s 2008 Office Development Awards, winning the “Best overall development outside central London” and “Best bespoke development outside central London” categories.
